NEWPORT POLICE DEPARTMENT,  (207) 368-3263

The Newport Police Department provides 24-hour staffed police service and is dispatched by Penobscot Regional Communications Center Center with 911 access. Computerized record system since 1994. The Department handles approximately 6,000 complaints annually.
We encourage input from our citizens as we constantly strive to make our department better. Please stop by or call regarding any ideas you might have to share.

Newport Police are asking residents to lock car doors as well as homes. All towns are experiencing an increase in night-time thefts.  We encourage all citizens to call (207) 368-3263 if they observe anything suspicious.

Homeowners Beware
If you own a vacant property please advise our Police Department so that we can watch your residence while it is unoccupied.  We have had a rash of copper pipe thefts at vacant homes. We would be glad to help you in any capacity.                           Chief MacDaid
